How to Apply for FEMA Financial Aid

The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Disaster Assistance Program is now open to everyone affected by the Holiday Farm Fire. Applications are available on their website.

You will need to know the following information for the application:

  • residential address
  • social security number
  • insurance information
  • damage information
  • pre-tax household income
  • permanent phone number (such as your cell phone number or a relative’s home phone number)
  • temporary phone number (such as the phone number of the hotel where you are staying)
  • bank deposit information, including bank name, account type, routing, and account numbers

In addition to funding from FEMA, Lane County Board of Commissioners voted to increase the wildfire response budget from $500,000 to $1 million. These extra funds will covers various expenses including cleanup equipment, storing donated goods, and paying employee overtime.

Lane County Administrator Steve Mokrohisky stated, “The cost of the damage from this fire has piled up rather quickly, so this delegation is to allow the county administrator to expand additional resources in response to needs from this fire.”

FEMA has promised to reimburse 75% of the county’s wildfire recovery costs.
